PSAL B PLAYOFFS

This was the first 'B' championship game. (Actually it was called PSAL Section II for a few years at first) Before 1961-62 the PSAL B league was called the Vocational league and only featured vocational high schools. For the time period from 1947-1961 there was only an A league. During the 1961-62 season the PSAL renamed the league the B league and opened it to Non-Vocational schools which had run programs that were too weak to sustain in the A league.
